Mark Pitman, Founder and Principal Instructor

Principal Instructor and Industrial Insite founder Mark Pitman has spent the majority of his career in the industrial electronics industry. He is a technical service expert and trainer for large companies including Reliance Electric (a division of Rockwell Automation), Pitney Bowes and Xcel Energy. Among his areas of expertise are process control methodologies, electronic technology, instrumentation & control and electronic device manufacturing.

Prior to founding Industrial Insite, Mark spent over 10 years at Rockwell Automation in positions ranging from technical repair to sales and customer service management. His experience also includes 3 years with Pitney Bowes and 8 years with the U.S. Army.

As a former Green Beret and U.S. Army veteran, Mark served as a team communications sergeant and field advisor with the 5th and then 12th Special Forces Groups. He specialized in state-of-the-art electronic and radio communications. While training and advising allied armed forces, Mark mastered training techniques that have proven highly effective within the business and industrial technical training environment.

Mark earned a degree in Electronic Technology from Tulsa County Vocational College in his native state of Oklahoma. Later, he continued his education through the rigorous training and selection process required to serve in Special Forces and as an instructor for the US Army.

Mark’s hobbies range from tech-savvy to adventurous. He enjoys rock climbing, electronics, computers, camping, and he pilots his own single-engine airplane. He is father to a horse-crazy pre-teen daughter and husband to Katie Pitman, Director of Operations at Industrial Insite.

Katie Pitman, Director of Operations

Armed with clear-sighted vision gained from two decades of business-growing experience, Katie is an energetic leader and team builder at Industrial Insite. Her strategic focus and executive management skills make her a valued member of the management team. She is responsible for business planning, operations, sales, marketing, business development and customer/public relations, as well as overseeing accounting, human resources, and contract staffing.

Influenced heavily by her early days in Lake City, MN, Katie exhibits a can-do mindset that is motivated by a genuine desire to help local manufacturers thrive. With experience in both business-to-business and retail environments, Katie is a skilled communicator with proven success in collaborating with business partners, unions, and executive management and boards of directors.

Before joining Industrial Insite, Katie built her career in the financial industry for over 20 years, where she launched several successful outreach programs and won 6 marketing awards including first place Best Product or Service Promotion from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions. During her tenure as Senior Vice President at Topline Credit Union, Katie directed multiple departments including sales, marketing, lending, investment services, human resources and training.

Katie earned a B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is married to Industrial Insite Founder Mark Pitman. In her spare time, Katie enjoys gardening, horseback riding, painting, and cheering as her daughter competes in horseback riding game shows.
